No worries at all. I was able to get a hold of support for clarification on this issue while discussing a different issue. The documentation I was referring to is the Upgrade.pdf document located within the service_desk_771_docs download. On page 6, step 6 it states:
6. If any of your users use either Internet Explorer 7 or 8, and do not have Internet
access or are prevented from installing Internet Explorer plugins, install Google
Chrome Frame for them. An offline installer of the Google Chrome Frame is available
from the LANDesk\Service Desk\WebApp\WebAccess\Content folder on the Service
Desk web server. Refer to the LANDesk Community web site for more information.
So I was confused on if it truly was required for all users, as the above posting indicates it is no longer required for Self Service(yay!) and recommended for IE 8 Analysts.
