Hello all,
We are currently running LDMS 9.5 and we were looking into upgrade to 9.5.2, but yesterday 9.6 was released and we're also contemplating that as an upgrade path as well. Because it has not been released for long I was thinking of performing a side-by-side upgrade, believing that it may be easier to test the new environment with a limited set of workstations and testing the provisioning templates, packages, tasks, agent settings, etc. and remove the current core server later.
Does a side-by-side upgrade work in this manner? Would I be able to do the following?
Move individual workstations from old core to new core
Test agent settings/tasks/packages/provisioning templates on new core
Move individual workstations from new core to old core
Retire old core when satisfied with new environment
Any assistance would be appreciated, as not a lot of detail about side-by-side migrations are given in the new Best Known Methods document for LDMS 9.6.
