My pleasure, Dave. To answer that one last question... Once you install the agent it is highly recommended to get a reboot, but after that you do not need a reboot for a scan. As long as your agent can contact the server via ping and the server can ping it back then scans should happen automatically. So check in your agent settings that you have a schedule and also check which name / IP you are using in the agent settings and then ping that from the device that is not scanning to check connectivity. If you are using "SERVER" and "ping server" does not resolve you need to update that to either the IP (if static) or the FQDN, e.g. "server.domain.com". I've seen this a lot in environments with WINS.

 

If all these are in place and it is still not working then something is interfering with the agent on the machine so maybe check for any services with a delayed start.
