Does this sound like the problem: Searching for Child Requests in Web Access Search Box?
This was logged to LANDesk Support under 00768431 and unfortunately they could not replicate the fault and we upgraded to 7.7.2 a few weeks after the issue started .
Defiantly sounds like an escalation to Support is needed to take a look at your system, unless you are plan on making the jump to 7.7.2 anytime soon of course!
Hope you find the answer you are looking for soon, we spent hours trying to work out what was going on with no luck unfortunately.
