Re: Best Practice removing old devices in LDMS 9.5

Great points. In our situation, we have just made a large transition from XP to Windows 7.  So, I was expecting to see XP machines start showing up and unscanned. There are many machines on multiple subnets and I dont know what is happening in those places.  I am just trying to clean it up so that I dont end up having more and more "affected" machines that are turned off and will never be turned back on.  BTW, Landesk is still rather new also, so there is allot if transition.

Techs are not to good at removing a machine from AD like they should when it's gone, and likewise, no one but me maintains the Landesk devices. So if they are not removing a machine properly from AD, I know LD device profiles are not getting deleted either.

But you are right, I am assuming too much "transition" for a problem that is obviously more systemic.  I will leave the devices there and start publishing a list and see if highers will send to all techs re machines that have gone "incognito" and we will do cleanup based on their feedback.

It's a large organization.
