That's the original error I was focussing on but when I compared the logs from other machines it looks like they all get that error and the others are able to connect and pull up the console. I know it is a few years old but when I was first went looking for answers I found this document that makes it seem like it's a common but inconsequential error. How to Interpret the Console.exe.log

The last timestamped line actually has the error that's in the pop-up error that occurs graphically when trying to log on so that makes me think the important error is there.
Also possibly important, the last three lines won't paste correctly so I'll type them out. The characters that are missing actually only show up in the log when I open it with notepad++. They show up as white letters highlighted in black. They also show in discrete blocks that are as follows: SUB, DC4, EM, ESC, DC3. So even though they are both highlighed in black there is a white vertical line indicating a separation between the first and second SUB's in the first line, etc.
