If they are using Console then a new query with those modifications needs to be created. If they are using webdesk then they may be able to right hand click in a shortcut group use the action save current page as. They need to have the privileges to do this though. If they don't have those privileges and you don't want to giev them those, they can just make a copy of the address bar contents with the correctly sorted query running and paste it in each time they want to use it or make a bookmark outside of LDSD.
As an FYI when one of our clients allowed people to create their own queries, they rapidly ended up with a large management of data issue as there were hundreds of queries and no-one knew if they were good, bad or even in current use. Just a thought.
