What's wrong with feeding the "-x" to LDISCAN?
Normally you shouldn't have to touch the component scanners (i.e. - "map-filescan" & co) other than for testing / debugging purposes mainly. All of the relevant parameters should be normally usable via LDISCAN (whose job it then would be to set things up accordingly).
Hope this helps.
For reference - LDISCAN trawls through the "/opt/landesk/etc/ldconfig.xml" for its options (USUALLY only used to disable a "component scanner" by commenting out the relevant XML-line, in case that you run into trouble with one, or need to disable a part of a scan due to some policy / security or whatnot issues).
