On my Incident window, I have a Config Item selection where the analyst can select the CI Type & then the CI device name (title)
I have a separate action set to send information related to printers to our Printer repair group. Several attributes such as serial #, asset tag info, model, etc are contained in the Printer object, so I am using those attributes on my Printer Repair scheduling window.
It seems, however that when a Printer is selected on the main incident window (including the device name), when I target the Printer name in the second window, the name is not populating based on the CI name shown on the main incident details.
I explored the Business Object Copy rules, but there is no way to limit the copy if ONLY a printer is the CI type, so if I put a desktop as the CI, it throws an error due to it populating the "Printer" box with an invalid item.
I also had the "Copy Related" & "Copy Related Object" settings enabled on the Printer & CI Items in the window.
I can get it to copy, but am not sure how to limit it to only printers
